B Ride Schedule

Now we're really movin'. Distances have been good, speed has been high and stops have infrequent. We've got some interesting rides planned this month, including George and Nancy's "Bellport Leap" century. Based on the Port Jefferson century in June, this should be a fantastic ride. For August, I'm considering a B ride open to strong C+ and weak A riders with a remote start from my house (East Norwich) that will end with a backyard BBQ. Let me know if you're interested. If there's demand, I'll supply...

Saturday, July 3
Rich Suttenberg (516/624-3430) 50 miles to Centerport with a lunch stop at "The Shack," a roadside seafood/BBQ type stand. Outdoor seating only.

Sunday, July 4
Rich Suttenberg (516/624-3430), much like himself, will do a short, fast ride to get us back to the lot early - maybe 1PM. We'll do the standard reversed Oyster Bay, Locust Valley, Mill Neck, Lattington, Sea Cliff, Bayville ride inversely.

Monday, July 5
If you're not working today, come to the lot.

Saturday, July 10
George and Nancy Cymbalsky (516/757-0392) will will co-captain the Bellport Leap century, where you can see windmills and great views of the Great South Bay (for more than 10 minutes, Glenn). This ride will be exceptionally flat. IMPORTANT NOTE: WE WILL MEET AT THE LOT AT 8AM TO LEAVE AT 8:30 AM. Also, bring plenty of snacks to hold you over between meals.

Sunday, July 11
Gold Coast, or roll your own.

Saturday, July 17
David Junowitz (718/380-6843) leads again. Maybe he'll try his Eaton's Neck run. Long and flat followed by long and hilly. We'll try to stay in the shade.

Sunday, July 18
Doug Beards (914/948-0025) will lead a remote start joint ride with the Country Cycle Club of Westchester. The ride leaves at 9:30 AM from the Unitarian Church in White Plains - 50 miles from Westbury. This ride is held on the closest day to Bastille Day, and is in honor of the Marquise de Sade. Directions: Whitestone Br. to Hutchinson Pkwy. north to exit 25, North Street. Turn left at top of ramp and left at 2nd traffic light onto Rosedale Ave. Church will be 100 ft. on right - park in lower lot. Please note, this is also the day of the Summer LIBC party.

Saturday, July 24
Any volunteers? Otherwise, roll your own.

Sunday, July 25
David Junowitz (718/380-6843) will lead us on a mystery ride. It's a mystery because he doesn't know I volunteered him to lead.

Saturday, July 31
Rich Suttenberg (516/624-3430) will do a 55 mile ride to the tip of Centerport. Lunch will be at the Woodbury Country Deli.
